Did you know that the County of Brant has 182 Volunteer Firefighters deployed out of 8 Fire stations?
The Mayor and all members of Council met last night (April 13, 2021) at the Policy Development and Strategic Direction Committee to review our new Fire Master Plan. With a growing community it is important that we have plans in place to maximize community safety and the safety of our Firefighters and this plan outlines recommendations to achieve both.
Ward 2 residents will be pleased to see that one of the recommendations is to add an additional Fire Hall for North Paris in the next few years. During the meeting, I reminded everyone that we will have significant road construction on our main route through Paris (Grand River Street North and Downtown) in the coming years, and we will look forward to plans from County staff on how to ensure that Firetrucks are able to navigate through town without losing their response time.
Our community is blessed to have a great team of Firefighters protecting the County. Council and staff will use this Fire Master Plan to create policies, plans and budget decisions to support those Firefighters accordingly.
I encourage readers to have a look at the full report or watch the video from the meeting.

County of Brant hits CBC news in a really good way with a new program called Camp Phoenix.
Thank you to everyone who made this program happen! Here is a link to that article:
