Gaining New Perspective at Sensity in Paris

Earlier in September I had the opportunity to tour the Sensity facility in the former Sacred Heart School building in Paris. This amazing organization provides programs and support services for deafblind children and adults, as well as housing for 18 adults on site. (And they were very involved in the creation of the Sensory Trail in Lion’s Park)

It was a very informative experience, learning about the many services offered on site, and I had the opportunity to participate in a deafblind simulation exercise. With my hearing and vision restricted, Sherri Barna from Purple Bean Media attempted to lead me through a pumpkin craft exercise and I proved to be a poor student! (My pumpkin looked more like a pile of banana peels).

Thank you to the Paris Chamber of Commerce, Jason from BScene Newspaper and of course, the wonderful staff at Sensity who together hosted this event and created this opportunity. To learn more about this organization and the services they provide, please visit the Sensity website .
