Here’s a little photo glimpse of Paris History, just taken downtown this morning.
My whole life I have heard of the Mill Races that ran under Downtown, to propel the Mills….this is the first time I have ever seen parts of it in person.
With thanks to one of the Construction guys who was very helpful today, I am happy to report that a portion of the Mill Race remains, under the sidewalk in front of the Travel Agency below Stillwaters. And with further thanks to the construction guys and County staff, we have retained some bricks from the Mill Race for a future use. (And we will make sure The Paris Museum & Historical Society gets some too).
To learn more about this unique part of our Town’s history, please stop in to the Museum!!
